Wahoo's Microsoft Tips Newsletter -
September 2002
In The News This Month... Okay, you guys. Why didn't anybody email me to tell me I forgot to send out a newsletter for July AND August??!! Is everybody on vacation out there?! HELLOOOOO! Is this thing on?!
I've decided to send out this newsletter mid-month instead of at the beginning as I have more time to do it in the middle of the month as opposed to the beginning. Hope this is okay with everyone.
Anyways, down to business. The summer here was very good in terms of weather and sales. I think it's been our best summer ever!
That's that. Thanks for reading!

Internet Explorer Tip: Link Colours
Internet Explorer by default, has the colour blue for a new link and purple for visited links. But what if you want to change it to pink or yellow or something else, how do you do it? It's very easy, actually.
1. Open Internet Explorer, hit the Tools menu, Internet Options. You should be on the "General" tab.
2. Next click the little "Colours" button. A settings screen will open up.
3. From this screen click the little colour boxes to reset the default colours. Hit OK and you're all set.
To test your new settings, head to a site like Yahoo! since they use your computer's default colour scheme for their links.
Bonus tip: When you were on the colour settings screen described above, you may have noticed a checkbox labeled "Use hover colour." If you check that box, you can set the colour a link is when your mouse hovers over it. Cool!
Excel Tip: Changing Enter Direction
Have you ever been working in Excel and found yourself wishing that the cell selection would go in some other direction after you hit the Enter key? Sometimes the data needs to be entered in rows, not columns.
1. To begin, go to the Tools menu and choose Options.
2. Next select the Edit tab.
3. In the middle of the window you should see the "Move selection after Enter" option. Then just below that there is a drop down box for direction.
4. Simply change the direction listed to the right, left, up or down then click OK.
