In The News This Month...
Happy Belated Father's Day to all the dad's out there! I hope your day was great!

Here in BC the Father's Day weekend was a free fishing weekend for all Canadian citizens. I hope if any of your were in BC, you took advantage of the government's freebie. It sure doesn't happen often enough.

Lately the weather has been very hot and everybody around is concerned about forest fires. The whole valley relies on the forests in one way or another so we don't want to lose them.

July 1 is Canada Day here in Canada. It's Canada's birthday and there's usually fireworks of some sort and other celebrations. Happy Canada Day to all you Canucks out there!

We're gearing up for a very busy summer with tourists and locals fishing and enjoying the great outdoors. There's no place like the Robson Valley in the summer. Mountains, rivers, streams, blue skies, no pollution, and no crowds! I hope you enjoy your summer and stay safe.

Uses For Vodka ... Other Than Drinking:

To clean the caulking around bathtubs and showers, fill a trigger-spray bottle with vodka, spray the caulking, let set five minutes and wash clean. The alcohol in the vodka kills mold and mildew.
To clean your eyeglasses, simply wipe the lenses with a soft, clean cloth dampened with vodka. The alcohol in the vodka cleans the glass and kills germs.
Prolong the life of razors by filling a cup with vodka and letting your razor blade soak in the alcohol after shaving. The vodka disinfects the blade and prevents rusting.

Windows Tip: Drag & Drop Opens

Did you know that most programs allow you to open files by dragging and dropping them into their window? Here's how:

Let's say you have a picture file sitting on your desktop and your imaging software is already running. Just drag and drop the file into the program and is should open. (This doesn't always work with every program out there.)

This is also really handy if you intend to have a lot of programs open at once.

You can also use this trick to open multiple files at once. Select the files you want, then just drag and drop the group to your program.

If the program you want to drag to is minimized, just drag your file to its little button and hold. After a couple of seconds, the program window will open and you will be able to drop the file into it.

Word Tip: Print Custom Envelopes & Labels

1. Start by opening Word.
2. Go to File and select New Document.
3. On the new document, single-click the Tools menu.
4. Now select Envelopes and Labels from the menu.
5. You should now have the Envelopes and Labels dialog box open.
6. Go to the Envelopes or Labels tacbdepending on what you want to do.

To Print Delivery and Return Address:
1. Enter the delivery instructions in the top form field under "Delivery address." Use a different line for name, street, and city / province / postal code.
2. For envelopes, enter the return instructions in the bottom form field under "Return address." Use a different line for name, street, and city / province / postal code. If you would like to leave this field blank, check the box labeled "Omit."
3. If you want a return address on your labels, put a check next to "Use return address" and enter the correct information.

To Change Envelope Size and Printing Options:
If you need to change the envelope size to anything other than the default size (4 1/8" x 9½") or choose the correct way to orient envelopes for printing, follow these directions:
1. Single-click the Options button on the envelopes and labels dialog box.
2. You should now see the envelopes options.
3. Select the Envelopes options tab, if it isn't already selected.
4. Under "Envelope size" select the correct envelope size.
5. Next single-click the Printing option tab.
6. Choose the option that best illustrates the way your printer handles envelopes.
7. Press OK when you're finished making all of your adjustments.

Add To Document
The last step before it's time to start customizing is to press the "Add to Document" button on the envelopes and labels dialog box. You should see a dialog box asking if you would like to make the return address your default setting.

Start Customizing
You should now see a template of an envelope or label with the information you entered into the Envelopes and Labels dialog box. Change fonts by highlighting all text and then choose a font from your font toolbar. To insert a picture or clip art onto the envelope, single-click "Insert", mouse-over "Picture" and select "From File." Navigate to where the image is on your hard drive and then press the Insert Image button. Place images on the left side of envelopes to avoid processing problems at the post office.

Start Printing
The final step is to print the envelopes or labels. Place an envelope or label in your printer and press the Print button. It may take a couple of times before you orient the envelopes the correct way in the printer.
